Abstract

By using the experimental method, this study aims to improve student learning outcomes in science learning magnetic material. This research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. A total of 17 grade 6 students at SDN 5 Tegaldlimo, 8 boys and 9 girls, were involved in this study. In each cycle, a test is used to assess student learning outcomes. Analysis of student learning outcomes is done by calculating the percentage of student completeness in each cycle. Pre-cycle activities show that the number of students in the complete category is 5 students with a completeness percentage of 29%. Cycle 1 was carried out using visual media and the percentage of students' completeness increased to 47% with the number of students in the complete 8 categories. The experimental method was used for Cycle 2, and with students in the complete category 16, the completeness level increased to 94%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the experimental method used in science learning magnetic material can improve student learning outcomes by increasing the percentage of classical completeness by 65%.
